Step 1
Let the HennaBrownie melt in a fireproof bowl in some hot water. You can grate the HennaBrownie to make it easier.
Stir very well with a whisk to make sure there are no lumps. Keep the mixture warm au bain marie or on a hot plate.
It might be fun to add ground coffee, red wine, carrot juice, lemon juice or elderberry juice to your henna mixtures. They make the colours more vibrant. Create your own unique colour.
Wash your hair with a silicone free shampoo. Your hair really has to “squeak” when you run your fingers through it. Silicone shampoo closes your hair scales which stops the Henna from attaching to your hair. Use one of my Henna shampoos, they clean your hair and prepare it for colouring with the HennaBrownie.
When you apply the HennaBrownie to clean hair, the colours attach themselves to your hair scales. The transparent Henna mixes itself with your own hair colour
Apply the hot mixture with a wide brush to the roots of your hair.
Massage well and roll up your hair.
Step 3
Take some cling film and wrap it around your hair.
Use a hair band to prevent leaks.
A hot hat ( or a towel) keeps your hair warm and lets your body temperature do its work. Let it soak for at least an hour, you can leave it in for ups to 3 hours if you like. And now, relax with the cats on the sofa.
Step 4
Rinse thoroughly and wash lightly with Henna Shampoo.
After colouring, “close” the hair with Henna Shampoo. Your own haircolour, together with the Henna colour will give you a natural look.
If you have any Henna mixture left you can freeze it for another time. Mak sure you thaw it well before heating it up again next time.
